Glen Cha, Product Manager of Malaysia, has started his presentation. Mobile email can be as popular as SMS? How? SMS is popular because it is affordable, everyone uses it and it is a no-brainer to figure out. As for mobile email, it can cost quite a bunch and it is way more complicated due to the setting up of email accounts on your handset along with checking out the compatibility of the software with your handset. In addition, Nokia Messaging will not only work with your corporate accounts but casual email accounts like GMail, Yahoo! and Live in addition to Nokia Mail. It plays nice with S60 and S40 operating systems, offering full integration with popular IM services so that you can remain in touch at all times - as long as there is a decent signal, of course. Nokia Messaging (on S60) supports up to 10 email accounts, assuming you have that many to get harassed with. Check out http://email.nokia.com for more information as new phones are added to Nokia Messaging's umbrella of support (current count of 19).
We are then presented with test units of the Nokia E75 along with 3G connectivity (although the signal strength maxed out at EDGE), where we were shown how to start up an email account on the spot.
